Lost my grandma on Wednesday & miss her already. She was such a constant in my life, very opinionated & feisty, even when she went to a nursing home after a bad fall & a few strokes. I tried to help her when I could while she was at her home, & visited her often at the nursing home. Hope there's not going to be any family drama, & we'll all see that everyone's grieving & not add to it. We're all going to be in pain, & I hope we'll help each-other start to heal from it. Do not Stand at my Grave and Weep's a poem written in 1932 by Mary Elizabeth Frye. I found this poem very fitting:
Randomly searching song lyrics gave me this: "Goodnight Irene, goodnight Irene, I'll see you in my dreams" According to wiki it was first recorded in 1932 by Huddie 'Lead Belly' Ledbetter (& covered by various musicians.) Let's hope that hurricane Irene is like dream, & everything's OK ;)
